Auburn Gresham Native Helping to Shape A More Sustainable and Prosperous Greater Chicago Region

Spotlight on Auburn Gresham native, Alden Loury, who joined the Metropolitan Planning Council (MPC), in May 2016 as the director of research and evaluation. Alden and the MPC staff are working with government, community and business leaders to assist communities, demonstrate best practices and change public policy. MPC is a diverse group of individuals with various backgrounds and skills who work together toward the common goal of a more sustainable and prosperous greater Chicago region.

A Moment with Father Michael Pfleger

St. Sabina Church has had a fearless leader, Father Michael Pfleger, who has championed the cause of not only saving but transforming the lives of youth in communities in and around his magnificent institution. One of his signature programs presented each year during the celebration of negro history, is his Speaker Series, in which he invite his congregation and others into the sanctuary to see and listen to world renowned personalities give their unabashed insight into America and the communities-at-large.

Auburn Gresham Free Tax Site Monday, April 17th Is Our Last Day!

The Center for Economic Progress (CEP) partners with the Greater Auburn Gresham Development Corporation (GADC) to provide free tax preparation. 

The Tax Site is located at 7811 S. Racine and the doors opens and 5:30pm Monday. This FREE service is based on a first come first serve basis. Be sure to come early to hold your spot!

Eden Place Urban Farming Workshops

Have an approved large lot, you’re thinking about turning into a urban garden? Eden Place Farms, a subsidiary of Fuller Park Community Development Corporation, is hosting a four-part series of farming workshops for families or individuals interested in learning the techniques of urban farming. The Saturday workshops will be held on February 4, 11, 18 and 25 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at 4911 S. Shields Avenue in Chicago.
