Veterans To Careers Recruiting Event

Dear Veteran, Please join us at the next Veterans Forward Career Workshop May 22-23 at 567 W. Lake Street in Chicago from 10am to 4pm.  This event is free and open to all Veterans.  The workshop includes dynamic job training and skill that you can put to use immediately to help you. You will have a chance to immediately put these skills to work with local businesses at our hiring event on the second day.  Please register in advance online or call 855-994-8300 to sign up.  Please bring your DD214, government issued ID, and your current resume. Lunch will be provided both days.

TCR Talks: Revamping education in the community, not the classroom

The disparity in academic achievement between white children and children of color has been an issue in public education for decades. Low-income black and Latino students consistently struggle to compete with their white peers. Phillip Jackson believes that black boys will achieve more if we overhaul the way we think about education. He founded the Black Star Project in 1996 to tackle the achievement gap.
