ADA 25 Chicago launches a first-of-its-kind Leadership Institute for People with Disabilities

July 26th marked the 25th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) being signed into law, sparking a new era of civil rights for people with disabilities in the U.S. In Chicago, a network of organizations is committing to new programs and initiatives,  under ADA 25 Chicago to fulfill the promise of the ADA, particularly in the areas of education, employment, community inclusion and technology.

Applications still oprn for Chicago High School Teens Seeking Summer Paid Apprenticeship Programs and Internships with After School Matters®. Teens can search and apply for Summer programs online at www.afterschoolmatters.org.  Search for MAPSCorps @ Greater Auburn-Gresham Development Corporation, to apply for a local STEM internship program right here in your community.  All After School Matters programs are free and open to Chicago teen residents who are at least 14 years of age (16 years of age for internships) and who are entering or currently enrolled in high school.
