Teens Now Have Greater Access to Primary Medical Care

CHICAGO – February 10, 2016 – The Erie Teen Center, the Chicago area’s only freestanding health center providing specialized services just for teens and young adults, has moved, is expanding its hours and offering more confidential space for teens at its new location in Humboldt Park. And to help celebrate these changes, Echoes of Chicago is hosting a post Valentine’s Day event—Love Not Lost – showcasing music and artistic pieces that reflect on love with proceeds partially supporting Erie’s Teen Center.

Residents, Media Tour MLK Memorial During Annual Luncheon

This past Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, local families, activists and elected officials came together for IMAN’s annual MLK Commemorative Luncheon. Volunteers of all ages spent the afternoon serving catered meals to community residents, while 16th Ward Alderwoman Toni Foulkes and 17th Ward Alderman David Moore shared reflections on the legacy of Dr. King’s work in Chicago.

Court Grants Motion By Nonprofits and Sprint to Extend WiMax Service Through March

Mobile Citizen update: This week Sprint joined us when we asked the court to extend a preliminary injunction that temporarily saved Internet access for the people on the WiMax network. Today, the court approved it. This is a step in the right direction for all of us. The revised shutdown schedule for the Chicago Area is February 2nd. If you have an active hotspot, you can transition to Sprint services. We will let businesses know, when new service can be added.
