Saturday Enrichment Program Request for Applications (Contractors)

Beloved Community Family Services, Inc. (BCFS) wishes to formally invite you to share your community program and/or class with our 2013 Fall session of the Saturday Enrichment Program (October 12 – December 14, 2013). BCFS will grant each selected class $750 for sharing your time and knowledge with our neighborhood children!  Applications are due ONLINE Sunday, September 15, 2013 at 11:59pm.

Youth Organizations Rally For Peace in Chicago

Auburn Gresham High Schools (Perspectives, St. Leo, Robinson) march from their schools, to the corner of 79th and Racine to hold a Rally for Peace, celebrating I Care for Peace Week. Not because parents and teachers forced them to…because they care about restoring and maintaining peace in the community where they live and attend school.

CPS Attacks Excelling Clara Barton With Turnaround

Chicago Public Schools Board is arbitrarily clarifying Clara Barton Elementary School  for Turnaround status.  Usually the Turnaround process takes place after a school has been formally placed on probation and has a record of “no progress” in the deficit areas that placed the school on probation.  In the case of Clara Barton, they were not placed in this category nor were they ever on the Turnaround list.
