Youth Organizations Rally For Peace in Chicago

Auburn Gresham High Schools (Perspectives, St. Leo, Robinson) march from their schools, to the corner of 79th and Racine to hold a Rally for Peace, celebrating I Care for Peace Week. Not because parents and teachers forced them to…because they care about restoring and maintaining peace in the community where they live and attend school.

Greater Grand Crossing Youth Hopeful of Neighborhood Recovery

STEP-UP Fellow from Illinois State University, interns with the Greater Auburn Gresham Development Corporation, working with Aurora Cruz who presides over the Neighborhood Recovery Initiative (NRI) program in Greater Grand Crossing. A favorite part of interning with the GAGDC office and more specifically the NRI program has definitely been communicating directly with representative members of NRI’s Mentoring + Jobs program.

A special group of Auburn Gresham residents lead by Jimmy Prude, head to Springfield to Digitally Lobby for IPVA (Illinois Violence Prevention Authority) in bringing forth continued funding for 2013.
