Get Covered Illinois Brings “Road 2 Coverage” Mobile Tour to Sunrise Baptist Community Center

Sunrise Baptist Community Center on Thursday, March 27. Featuring a branded Get Covered Illinois recreational vehicle (RV), the tour provides ways to reach uninsured residents and encourage health insurance enrollment during the final month of open enrollment. The event will be held at Sunrise Baptist Community Center, 1101 S. Central Park Ave., from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The disparity in academic achievement between white children and children of color has been an issue in public education for decades. Low-income black and Latino students consistently struggle to compete with their white peers. Phillip Jackson believes that black boys will achieve more if we overhaul the way we think about education. He founded the Black Star Project in 1996 to tackle the achievement gap.
