Pastors Praise Program for Helping Inner-City Youths Despite Critical Audit

AUBURN GRESHAM — A group of pastors and other leaders in the black community came to the defense of the state’s Neighborhood Recovery Initiative, a $54-million anti-violence program which has come under attack after a blistering state audit.  Rev. Michael Pfleger and the Rev. Corey Brooks joined mothers who lost their children to violence and community stakeholders in praising the “good” work the program has undertaken.

Community Grand Rounds “Substance Abuse and Youth”

 Community Grand Rounds is a series of events held in a community setting focusing on how the University of Chicago research can help improve health on the South Side. The MARCH 18th, free Community Grand Rounds event, held at 2601 W. Marquette Road, 5:30-7:30pm will focus on the topic of Substance Abuse and Youth:  Are You Friends with Remy, Molly, Loosies & Blunts?
